Find the source

Contain & remove

Sealed work areas, negative air, and HEPA filtration, following ANSI/IICRC S520 guidance.

Fix the cause

Mold returns when water does, so the moisture source is corrected first.

Verify the result

Moisture readings, photos, and optional independent testing in a written summary.

Common questions

More answers
How much does mold removal cost in Portland?

It depends on the size of the area, the materials involved, access (such as an attic or crawl space), and how much containment is required, so we price from a written scope after an inspection rather than quoting blind. A small, contained job costs far less than a crawl space or whole-room project. The remediation page lists the cost drivers.

Is mold in my house dangerous?

It can be, depending on the person. The CDC says that for some people mold can cause a stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing or wheezing, burning eyes, or skin rash, that people with asthma or mold allergies may have severe reactions, and that immune-compromised people and people with chronic lung disease may get lung infections from mold. Color does not reliably show risk, so any significant growth is worth addressing, and the moisture behind it even more so.

Can I remove mold myself?

Small areas (the EPA suggests under about 10 square feet) on hard surfaces can often be cleaned by a homeowner with detergent, water, gloves, eye protection, and a respirator. Larger areas, hidden growth, or mold after a flood or sewage backup should be handled by a professional. Does bleach kill mold? covers what the agencies say about cleaning products.

Do you work with insurance?

We can provide moisture readings, photos, and a written scope of work that your insurer may ask for. Coverage decisions are between you and your insurance company.

  6. 6

    Put the house back

Repairs carried through, with trusted restoration partners for anything outside our work.

Built for the Pacific Northwest

NOAA's climate normals put Portland's rain at about 37 inches a year, and 74 percent of it falls from October through March, just as homes are closed up and heated. Moisture arrives from the roof, the ground, and the air inside, so we start with the building and the water source, then decide what to remove.
